Jimi Hendrix Coming To "Rock Band"

Guitar legend Jimi Hendrix's entire catalog is set to be offered as DLC for the popular Rock Band video game franchise starting March 30th.

The Experience's sophomore album, Axis: Bold As Love will be the fist album to be released along with the newly unearthed tune "Valleys Of Neptune".

In a statement released by Janie Hendrix, Jimi's stepsistier and CEO of Expierience Hendrix LLC, said:

"Much like Jimi's music, we feel that Rock Band represents an amazing, innovative medium for music discovery and interaction that can have a profound affect on those who experience it. We are extremely pleased to be able to have Jimi Hendrix's genius musical legacy continue to live on and touch people the world over through the game"

Hendrix's other albums: stellar debut Are You Experienced?, ultimate masterwork Electric Ladyland and his posthumously released First Rays Of The New Rising Sun will all be released at a later time.

No word as to why a stand alone Hendrix game in the vein of The Beatles and Green Day (in stores June 18th) won't be released. But Harmonix, maker of the Rock Band franchise, said that there could be a Jimi Hendrix avatar and replica instruments released later.
